BOSNIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 24th WEEK

Zeljeznicar and Şiroki Brijeg are not only rivals in the Bosnian Premijer League, but they also struggle for the title of Bosnian Cup.

Last Wednesday, the first leg of the Bosnian Cup final was played and Zeljo had a 1-0 home victory with the goal scored by Skara. The second match will be played in Şiroki Brijeg and we will see if 1-0 home victory will be enough for Zeljo.

24th week was characterized by victories of three goals, which did not make any change at the peak of the league. Both Zeljo and Şiroki Brijeg had victories and conserved their rankings as the first and second teams.

The surprise home defeat of Borac against Zvijezda made it more difficult for them to struggle for European cups. Another surprising result was the away 3-0 defeat of Olimpik in Gabela. With this result, Olimpik who as slowly but surely approaching the pot for playing European cups is injured badly. Zrinjski, another team approaching for right to be in European struggle was defeated in Mostar Derby against Velez.

Without doubt, the Mostar Derby did not have any effect for the struggle at the top of the league, neither it affected the bottom ranks, but in the name of the Bosnian football legacy, Mostar Derby was the most important match of the week.

The Velez – Zrinjski derby is not only a simple city derby. Zrinjski was banned during Tito regime because of their sportive support to Nazi puppet Ustashi regime during the World War II.

They were re-established again during the collapse of Yugoslavia. The first action they did was to rent Velez’s Stadium Biİjini Brijeg for 49 years from the administration of Croat Defense Union, who occupied West Mostar (and shelled famous Mostar bridge) during the Bosnian War 1992-1995.

For Velez, with a claim of being the team of the whole city, in spite of Zrinjski representing only the Bosnian Croats of Mostar, the 3-1 victory against Zrinjski, as a result of a good football played under sharp Herzegovinian sun was of importance. (Poster photo: http://www.redarmy-mostar.ba)

The most dramatic match of the week was Sloboda’s home 4-0 defeat against Zeljo. Slavija was awarded by the recent week’s performance and now they are above the red line, where Sloboda is now there. Sloboda is one of those seven teams, who had been continuously taking part in Bosnian League since it was established in 2003, and recognized as a team with an honorable history with loyal and recognized fans.

The results of the matches played in the Bosnian Premier League in the 24th week are as follow:
Çelik Zenica: 2 – Leotar Trebinje: 3
FK Kozara: 1 – Şiroki Brijeg: 2
FK Sarajevo: 3 – Rudar Prijedor: 1
FK Slavija: 3 – NK Travnik: 1
Velez Mostar: 3– Zrinjski: 1
GOŞK Gabela: 3 – Olimpik Sarajevo: 0
Sloboda Tuzla: 0– Zeljeznicar: 4
Borac Banja Luka: 1 – Zvijezda Gradaçac: 2

Şiroki - Leotar

FK NOVI PAZAR
Novi Pazar has almost returned from death’s door. The only think they have to do from now on is to take three points in the next three matches. However, three difficult matches wait for Pazar. The rival Borac, on the other hand will have relatively easier matches, with a potential of gaining points from any of them.

Novi Pazar, joining the Serbian Super League for the first time is that close to fulfill this season’s target of not relegating.

As we mentioned earlier, 27th week was a crucial turning point for Novi Pazar. But, it seems Novi Pazar will be regretting too much for the two points lost to Metalac last week.

The home match against Hajduk Kula had an opening with a surprise goal at only sixth minute.

When the fans were suspicious on the issue if there would be another accident, the maestro of midfield of Novi Pazar with a recognizable Super Liga experience, Irfan Vuşljanin son of Novi Pazar scored at 25th minute. Just after that, 32 years old striker Admir Raşçiç from Foça – East Bosnia, having played in Çelik and Zeljeznicar scored the victory goal at 33th minute. Since Borac had a home 4-0 lost against Partizan, Novi Pazar had a deep breath. As we mentioned last week, after victory against Rad, BSK Borça is now surely away from relegation pot.

Novi Pazar’s next matches:
Sloboda (away)
OFK Beograd (home)
Jagodina (away)

Borac’s next matches:
Rad (away)
Vojvodina (home)
Spartak (away)

Novi Pazar has the greatest expectations from Borac-Vojvodina match. The same week, Pazar may gain point(s) against OFK at home.

CLUMSY TUTORIC RUINS NOVİ PAZAR

When OFK Beograd had unexpectedly beaten Borac in Cacak in 25th week, the gap between Novi Pazar and Borac became three points. This week we had such an expectation that Novi Pazar would have an easy home victory against hindmost Metalac and Borca would loose in away match against Jagodina, who struggles to play in European cups next season, and BSK Borça would loose against Partizan.

However, Novi Pazar made a surprise again and had a draw against Metelac in fron of 6000 spectacular’s at home match. By 53th minute, Djordje Tutoriç, 1983-Subotica born central defender, who previously played for Kocaelispor in Turkey and recognized with an own goal he scored, scored another own goal to Novi Pazar. Luckily, in 80th minute, Pazar’s own son, experienced left forward Admir Kecap brought the match to a draw.

Since Borac had an unexpected 0-0 away draw against Jagodina, the three point difference between Borac and Novi Pazar did not increased to six points, as we expected.

As Novi Pazar was not victorous, BSK Borça’s defeat against Partizan did not make any change in classification.

Here is the results of the matches of the teams in relegation pot of Jelen Super Liga played in April 25, Wednesday:
Novi Pazar: 1 – Metalac: 1
Jagodina: 0 – Borac: 0
Partizan: 2 - BSK Borça: 0

Current standings of team in Jelen Super Liga by 26th week:

(source: www.utakmica.rs)
27th week match schedule to be played in April 28, Saturday:
Borac – Partizan
BSK Borça – Rad
Novi Pazar – Hajduk Kula

It seems it will be a bit difficult for Borac to have a draw or a victory against Partizan in home match, but Novi Pazar’a away match against Hajduk Kula, recently having a better performance and does not want to turn back to relegation pot again will not be that easy as well. BSK Borça, after the home match against Rad, will probably leave Novi Pazar and Borac alone in the relagtion struggle.

BOSNIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 23rd WEEK

(Click here for the original Turkish text in Haber Boşnak, published April 17, 2012.)

By the end of the eight matches of the second half of the season, it seems that the top of the Bosnian Super League is settled to a certain degree. Struggle for title continues between Zeljo and Şiroki Brijeg, where Zeljo has an advantage of seven points difference. The victory of both teams in 23rd Week did neither change the rank nor the point difference.

The interesting coincidence in this week was that, leader Zeljo played with 4th Borac, while 2nd Şiroki Brijeg played with FK Sarajevo. Those keeping the title struggle were the victorious, where Borac and Sarajevo struggling for European cups were the losers. If it happened vice versa, the struggle for the title would be warmed a bit. At least there would be three candidates for the runner-up.

The gap between struggle for title and struggle for European cup did relatively become wider. Moreover, stable and constant Olimpik Sarajevo having home victory over Sloboda Tuzla, and spectacular home 4-2 victory of Zrinjski against GOŞK made both teams to be candidate for the struggle to be representing Bosnia in UEFA championship.

The relegation pot is still hot. Slavija, working hard to stay in Premier League is still under the red line, but there is only one point difference with Sloboda and GOŞK. Slavija got three points after an away victory against Rudar Prijedor, another team from Republika Srpska (like Slavija), and it seems Rudar, who has a relatively easy standing probably did not make the things difficult for Slavija.

Both GOŞK and Sloboda will have a difficult week, while Slavija will play at home against Travnik, another team who does not have claim for anything. On the other hand, Sloboda will host Zeljeznicar. That means, after the matches of 24th week, Slavija’s and Sloboda’s standings may be switched: Slavija above the red line, and Sloboda under. However, we have to keep in mind that Sloboda had played the most difficult matches and the rest of the fixture is slightly easy for Tuzla team.

Zeljo is again victorious over Borac after the third match they played this season. Borac and Zeljo were seeded in the Kup BiH as well. Zeljo, step by step on the way to the title, had a modest victory by Adiloviç’s goal at 31st minute.

Zeljo’s scorer Adilovic (Photo: Oslobodjenje)
Şiroki Brijeg had a clear victory over FK Sarajevo by the opening goal of Vagner and later on two goals of the Argentinean star Varea. The capital city team replied by Husejnovic’s honor goal.

The results of the matches played in the Bosnian Premier League in the 23rd week are as follow:
Zvijezda Gradaçac: 2 – Çelik Zenica: 1
Zeljeznicar: 1 – Borac Banja Luka: 0
Olimpik Sarajevo: 2 – Sloboda Tuzla: 0
Zrinjski Mostar: 4 – GOŞK Gabela: 2
NK Travnik: 3 – Velez Mostar: 2
Rudar Prijedor: 0 – Slavija: 1
Şiroki Brijeg: 3 – Sarajevo: 1
Leotar: 1 – Kozara: 0

Next Week’s Schedule (Week 24: April, 28-29):
Çelik – Leotar
Kozara – Şiroki Brijeg
Sarajevo – Rudar
Slavija – Travnik
Velez – Zrinjski (Mostar Derby)
GOŞK – Olimpik
Sloboda – Zeljo
Borac - Zvijezda

FK NOVI PAZAR
After a difficult three weeks, Novi Pazar succeeded to stay above the red line. In this period, Novi Pazar’s away victory against Borac was a victory of six points!

As expected, Novi Pazar had an away 3-1 defeat against Radniçka, currently the third rank in Jelen Super Liga. However, the real surprise was Borac’s home 2-0 defeat by OFK Beograd. Last week, I had mentioned about OFK’s habit to lose against teams on relegation pot. The Beograd team ashamed us this week and the three points difference between Borac and Novi Pazar remained the same. Borça, who had victory against OFK last week, had a disastrous 4-0 defeat against Jagodina.

Javor, having victory against Rad, had increased the point difference with Novi Pazar to five points, and with Borac eight points and seems to be in a safer standing.

Metalac, who recently gave positive signals showing the wish to stay in Super Liga, had an important match against Hajduk. However, the 3-1 home defeat against Hajduk destroyed the hopes. On the other side, Hajduk, like Javor, seems to be in a safer standing as well.

Standing of the teams in Serbian Jelen Super League by 25th week:
(Source: www. utakmica.rs)
In this context, since Metalac can be regarded as the first team to be relegated, the question is “Who will be the second team?” Until last week, there were five candidates, but Hajduk and Javor are no longer in this group. Currently, Borac, Novi Pazar and BSK Borça are three candidates. However, we have to keep it in mind that Novi Pazar will play at home in the following two weeks.

Today (April 25, Wednesday), Jelen Super Liga’s 26th week’s scheduled matches will be played and three candidates will play against those rivals:
Jagodina – Borac
Novi Pazar – Metalac
Partizan – Borça

It is quite difficult for Borac and BSK Borça to have some points. On the other side, Novi Pazar is likely to have a home victory against Metalac. If Metalac have had a victory over Hajduk last week, it could be a difficult match for Novi Pazar as well. However, Novi Pazar’s victory will not be surprise. Considering those probabilities, the bottom of Super Liga may have such kind a view:

13. Novi Pazar (24 points)
14. Borça (24 points)
15. Borac (18 points)
16. Metalac (14 points)

FK NOVI PAZAR - CRVENA ZVEZDA (RED STAR)

This week had a great importance for FK Novi Pazar, who hosted Red Star just after a very important 2-0 away victory against Borac last weekend.

It has been raining for days in Novi Pazar. However, just before th match started, it has stopped and made “Pazarci to be more interested in the game. The northern stands were just built and it was the first match that Torcida Sandzak would be watching the game from there. The 12,000 fans, forcing the limits of the stadium had a support for 90 minutes for their team. Novi Pazar, playing quite well and creating difficultis for the strong Red Star shared the points with a result of 0-0. However, news coming from Uzice was quite good. 2-1 away defeat of Borac againts Sloboda meant that the gap between Borac and Novi Pazar had increased to 3 points. Moreover, the 2-1 away defeat of Javor against Partizan, and 1-0 home defat of Hajduk against Vojvodina meant a breath for Novi Pazar for an expectedly difficult week. Borça, another candidate of relegation had an away victory over OFK Beograd, who has a tendency to loose easy points againts “relegation candidates”. If not, Borça would have the same point like Novi Pazar. (photo: www.haberbosnak.com)

Novi Pazar will have an away match with Radniçka this weekend. The struggle between Radniçka, Jagodina, Vojvodina and Sloboda for playing in European competitions continue. Two of those four teams will have this right. Thus, it seems it will be a bit difficult for Novi Pazar to gain point(s) from this match.

On the other side, Borac will be playing home match against OFG Beograd, who has a tendency to loose easily against relegation candidates, and Borac will probably gain three points. The average difference between Novi Pazar and Borac is 3 goals. If this balance will not be harmed much, the ranks will not change.

Javor will be playing against Rad, who does not have a claim on anything, nor have a fear of relegation. In addition to that, Rad and Novi Pazar are recognized as “enemy” teams. It is probable that Javor may have three points in this home match as well. Hajduk will be guest of Metalac. There are three options for this match. It will be a “to be or not to be” match for Metalac.

Borça will have a difficult home match against Jagodina. If they will gain single point from this match, it will be excellent result for them. Which will increase the value of their victıry against OFK Beograd.

As can be seen, 25th week will probably not bring good news for Novi Pazar. However, 26th and 27th weeks do have the potential to be the weeks of salvation for Pazarci.

BOSNIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 22nd WEEK

Zeljeznicar’s luck continues in Bosnian Premier League. Until two weeks ago, when Zeljo had an away draw against Zrinjski, Zeljo had not lost any points in the second half of the season. But, the biggest luck was that the rival teams have lost unexpected points in the competition. To be honest, we have to say that Zeljo plays well, and scores nicely, but Borac’s and Sarajevo’s break off from the championship struggle and the increasing gap of points between Şiroki Brijeg and Zeljo, were more as a result of the losses of those three teams than Zeljo’s victories.

(Photo: Oslobodjenje)
Slavija, who has been at the bottom of Bosnian Premier League since the beginning of the season is showing a sort of revival in recent weeks and had succeeded to defeat Şiroki Brijeg with 2-0 in home match, which made the difference between Şiroki and Zeljo’s points to be seven. Slavija scored the first goal at 31st minute n the first half. In the second half spectators watched a team of struggle which are lead by Karamtiç and Todoroviç. The second goal was scored by Todoroviç at 63th minute and defining the result of the match.

Leader Zeljo had an easy victory over Zvijezda in away match in Gradaçac, with Beşlija’s one and Selimoviç’s two goals assisted by Zeba, who was selected as the man of the match.

Kozara, who could not resist against Çelik in away match had settled at the bottom of the Bosnian Premier League when Slavija had a victory over Şiroki Brijeg. Since Leotar and Travnik could not gain points this week, Slavija’s hope to stay in Premier League had increased a bit, while there are seven weeks left until end of the season.

Due to heavy rain in Mostar, with the decision of the refreen at 27th minute, Velez- Rudar match is postponed to be played on April 18, Wednesday.

The results of the matches played in the Bosnian Premier League in the 22nd week are as follow:
Borac Banja Luka: 1- Olimpik Sarajevo: 0
Çelik  Zenica: 2- FK Kozara: 0
GOŞK Gabela: 3-  NK Travnik: 0
Zvijezda Gradaçac: 0 – Zeljeznicar: 3

FK Slavija: 2 – Şiroki Brijeg: 0

BOSNIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 21st WEEK

(Click here for the original Turkish text in Haber Boşnak, published April 12, 2012.)
(12 Nisan 2012 tarihinde Haber Boşnak'ta yayınlanan özgün metin için buraya tıklayınız)

Since the second period of the season had started because of the heavy winter conditions, the 21st Week scheduled matches were played yesterday (April 11, Wednesday)

Çelik, who hosted the capital city team Sarajevo last week in Zenica and destroyed Sarajevo’s hope for a claim to continue the struggle of championship, was guest of Zeljeznicar, the other team of capital city. After the goal scored by Svraka at 6th minute, just in the beginning of the of the game, the first half ended 1-0 while offence of Zeljo kept silent for the next forty minutes. However, the rail workers glowed in the second half of the game. The Zeljo storm started by Jamak’s goal at 51st minute and calmed down by Svrako in 89th minute, who was the scorer of the first goal of his team and thus who scored his second and his teams fifth goal in the match. Not only by the two goals that he scored, but also with his brilliant game in the midfield, Muamer Svraka was the man of the match. (Photo: Oslobodjenje)

Since Şiroki Brijeg also had a home 2-0 victory over Velez, the difference between Zeljo and Şiroki Brijeg remained four points.

Borac was third and Sarajevo was fourth in the table before the matches of 21st week. However, Sarajevo had an easy away 3-1 victory over Kozara with the excellent game of Asmir Suljiç, and Borac had an away 1-0 defeat against Zrinjski. After those results, Borac is currently the fourth in ranking and FK Sarajevo is third, which approved our prediction. At this point, if we will say that the struggle for the title of Bosnian Premier League is between Zeljo and Şiroki Brijeg, it will not be wrong.

The bottom of the table was warmed up last weekend after the victory of Slavija over Kozara, but an expected defeat of them in Leotar away match, the relegation struggle cooled off a bit. Kozara and Slavija are still the main candidates of relegation. Leotar Trebinje, the champion of the 2002/2003 when the Bosnian Serb, Croat and Bosniak teams began to play in the same competition since the war, had risen to 12th rank on the table after the defeat of Sloboda and GOŞK.

The results of the matches played in the Bosnian Premier League in the 21st week are as follow:
Zeljeznicar: 5– Çelik Zenica: 0
Olimpik Sarajevo: 2 – Zvijezda Gradaçac: 0
Zrinjski Mostar: 1 – Borac Banja Luka: 0
NK Travnik: 3 – Sloboda Tuzla: 0
RudarPrijedor: 3 – Gabela GOŞK: 0
Şiroki Brijeg: 2 – Velez Mostar: 0
Leotar Trebinje: 2 – Slavija: 0
FK Kozara: 1 – FK Sarajevo: 3

Standings of the teams by the end of 20th week:

Top goal scorers:
Adiloviç (Zeljo): 14 gol
Haskiç (Sarajevo), Wagner Marjanoviç (Zrinjski), Kajkut (Borac), Wagner (Şiroki Brijeg): 7 gol
Zeba (Zeljo), Obuça (Sarajevo): 6 gol

Next week’s schedule:
Borac - Olimpik
Çelik  - Kozara
GOŞK -  Travnik
Zvijezda – Zeljo

BOSNIAN PREMIER LEAGUE 20th WEEK

(Click here for the original Turkish text in Haber Boşnak, published April 9, 2012.)
(9 Nisan 2012 tarihinde Haber Boşnak'ta yayınlanan özgün metin için buraya tıklayınız)

Half of the eight matches played this week in Bosnian Premier League was draw and three of them were 1-1. Both teams from capoital city, Sarajevo and Zeljeznicar got only one point in this week’s matches.

Zeljeznicar had also lost two points against Zrinjski in away match in Mostar last week, despite a very succesfull start of the second half of the season, not only by the magnificient matches, but also by the surprise results of the rivals which made them to catch the leader and even make a gap of 8 points between them and the runner up. This week, they could not avoid a point loss with a result of 0-0 against Olimpik Sarajevo, one of the crabby teams of Bosnia. Irfan Fejziç was surely the man of the match who bravely supported his gate during the match which was played under heavy rain and with only 3000 supporters of Zeljo. (Photo: Dnevni Avaz)

Thus the point gap between Zeljo and Şiroki Brijeg dropped to four.

Another crabby score was in Zenica. Zenica’s Çelik team loves to be crabby against Sarajevo teams. Sarajevo, simply unsuccessful in the second half of the season was obliged to get three points for a claim in championship struggle. However, they could not avoid Smriko’s goal at 27th minute. They replied with Suljiç at 57th minute. But, they lost the third place to Borac who defetaed Travnik in a home match with an easy score of 1-1.

We also have to mention that Çelik will be playing against Zeljo as their other bloody rival from the capital next week.

It was expected that GOŞK Gabela, without a chance in the championship struggle and being –at least currently- away from dropline would not be compelling Şiroki Brijeg a lot and Şiroki Brijeg needed a sure victory to reduce the gap between them and the leader. However, the host team scored a goal at 27 by Tomiç. It is a bit difficult to score against Şiroki Brijeg, who had seen only 8 goals in their nets until now. In addition to that, it was not expected from the second least scorer team of the league with only 12 goals. Şiroki Brijeg, good in defence, but not that good in offence with the least goals scored among the other teams in the championship struggle surprised us by replying two goals: Varea’s at 39th and Misiç’s at 82th minutes.

The critical match of next week is between Zrinjski and Borac. Borac will likely to loose points against Zrinjski who will play with the love of “Şiroki Brijeg”. In this situation, only two candidates of champion will be left: Şiroki Brijeg and Zeljeznicar.

It seems, the bottom of the league is a bit warmed up this week. Currently there are five teams from Republika Srpska (RS) and four of them occupies the bottom four ranks of the standing table. That is to say, probably both of the teams which will drop will be from RS and since only one team from RS will be promoted to Premier League, there will be only four teams representing RS next season. Slavija, who had stuck in the bottom of the league had defeated Kozara and equalized the points with Kozara. If they will be able to defeat Leotar in away match next week, surprisingly the team who was stuck at the bottom since the beginning of the season will be able to jump through the relegation line. But, one should keep in mind that it is not that easy in Bosnian football to beat host team.

The results of the matches played in the Bosnian Premier League in the 20th week is as follow:
Çelik Zenica: 1 – FK Sarajevo: 1
FK Slavija: 2 – FK Kozara: 1
Velez Mostar: 1 – Leotar Trebinje: 1
GOŞK Gabela: 1 – Şiroki Brijeg: 2
Sloboda Tuzla: 1 – Rudar Prijedor: 2
Borac Banja Luka: 1 – NK Travnik: 0
Zvijezda Gradaçac: 1 – Zrinjski Mostar: 1
Zeljeznicar: 0 – Olimpik Sarajevo: 0

Standings of the teams by the end of 20th week:

Top scorers
Adiloviç (Zeljo): 13 goals
Haskiç (Sarajevo), Wagner Marjanoviç (Zrinjski), Kajkut (Borac): 7 goals
Wagner (Şiroki Brijeg), Zeba (Zeljo), Obuça (Sarajevo): 6 goals

Next week’s schedule:
Zeljeznicar – Çelik
Olimpik – Zvijezda
Zrinjski – Borac
Travnik – Sloboda
Rudar – GOŞK
Şiroki – Velez
Leotar – Slavija
Kozara - Sarajevo

FK NOVİ PAZAR
FK NOVİ PAZAR
Novi Pazar had a surprising result this week. Probably, the 2-0 away victory against Borac was the best welcome to Bekvalac, the fresh trainer of Novi Pazar in his first match. )He was previously the third trainer.)

On the other hand, the expectations of Novi Pazar from the other matches partly came true. Both Javor – Jagodina and Radniçki 1923 – Hajduk matches were finished with the same result: 0 – 0. On the other side BSK Borça lost home match against Sloboda Uzice 2-0 which can be a slightly surprising score. Thus, as I have mentioned three days ago, the fault line at the bottom part of Jelen Super Liga is still existing, but BSK Borça is now added to the lower part with Borac and Novi Pazar.

Above all, a difficult home match for Novi Pazar against Red Star awaits for next week.

Next week’s schedule for the teams at the bottom of the league is as follow:
Sloboda – Borac
Hajduk – Vojvodina
Partizan – Javor

After the 5-0 defeat by Red Star, we re-consider Metalac again as the team who will relegate from the Super League. Thus, our eyes are on those 3+2 teams.

Looking objectively, it seems impossible for Novi Pazar to steal some points from Red Star this weeks. But, we cannot know if the subjective reality will surprise us. There is also probability that Borac may turn back to home with points from Uzice. If they will come with a victory, Novi Pazar may again be under the red line.

I do not think that Hajduk will gain some points from the match against Vojvodina. Javor will also probably be defetaed easily by Partizan.

Considering those options, this week which we identify as a difficult week for Novi Pazar may not be that much difficult looking beyond the matches of the rival teams in the relegation basket. At least, there is a probability that the rankings in the standing table be the same next Sunday evening.

Last weekend’s (21st week of Jelen Super Liga) matches were not that much fortunate for Novi Pazar. However, as I had written before; when Novi Pazar plays at home, Borac and Javor plays away matches, or vice versa. Therefore, if one week Novi Pazar is better off, the other week brings a setback. This week Novi Pazar had a vital match against BSK Borça. If they had managed to be victorous, not only they would get three points, but also they would pull BSK Borça deeper in the poll of the candidate teams to drop from Super Liga. But, the result was a 1-1 draw. Ristovski, the trainer of Novi Pazar resigned after the match.

The surprise of the week was the 3-2 away victory of Javor against OFK Beograd.

As had been predicted, Metalac who had good results in recent matches and increased their hope to not to be dropped from the Super Liga, had another home victory against Borac. This was the best, and even the only good news for Novi Pazar.

The results of the games of the teams in the den of hell of Jelen Super Liga played by April 4, Wednesday are as follows:

Novi Pazar: 1 – BSK Borça: 1
Metalac: 3 – Borac: 1
OFK Beograd: 2 – Javor: 3
Hajduk: 1 – Rad: 0

Standings of the teams by 19th week

As can be seen from the standings, we can talk about a newly appearing fault line among the candidate teams to drop: On the one side there is Borac and Novi Pazar being closer to the red line, on the other side stand Javor, Hajduk and BSK Borça who are in relatively beter situation. In this sense next week’s fixture is of importance, when Novi Pazar will play away and rivals will be playing at home.

Fixture of 23th week which will be played by April 7, Saturday:
Borac – Novi Pazar
BSK Borça – Sloboda Uzice
Javor – Jagodina
Hajduk – Radniçki 1923

Away match against Borac is extremely important for Novi Pazar. It is a match of six points. Even, we can call it as a do-or-die match since Novi Pazar will play at home against Red Star next week. If Novi Pazar succeed to get three poıints from this match, their hope for next season to continue Super League can be refreshened. Otherwise, they will be a stronger candidate to play in Jelen Prva League next season.

Novi Pazar has an advantage for his week. Both Javor and Hajduk will be playing against stronger teams who stil have claims for European cups. As for current standing, Radniçka 1923 is the team who will play in Euro cups. But, if they will have a defeat against Hajduk, and if Jagodina will have an away victory against Javor there will only be one point between those teams. If Radniçki will win and Jagodina will loose, than the gap between two teams will increase up to seven points, which means Jagodina will be one of the teams who will be desperately waiting for the end of the season without any claim for anything. Therefore, it seems Javor – Jagodina and Hajduk – Radniçki 1923 matches will be quite harsh ones.

No matter what will be the results of the other matches, Novi Pazar has to win three points in away match against Borac for sure! And this will be a bit difficult since the third trainer of Novi Pazar, Bekvalac will be in charge after Ristovski’s resignation.

The match played in Novi Pazar in the first half of the season between those two teams which were established both in the year 1928, was resulted with a 0-0 draw. Çaçak, the home of Borac is just 142 km away from Novi Pazar, which means a drive of 3 hours among mountainous roads of Southern Serbia. Both Novi Pazar players and fans will need strength in the field and on the road.

Just three weeks ago Siroki Brijeg was the leader of the Bosnian Premier League and Zeljo was runner up with Sarajevo as the third in the rank. After three weeks of Zeljo’s successes and rials surprising losses, it was expected that Zeljo would finally loose some points against Zrinjski in the away match in Mostar. Zeljo’s trainer Amar Osim did not wish to jeopardize himself. He applied a wary tactics aiming for a draw. Zrinjski, who had been loosing points for weeks was consent with Osim’s “peaceful” tactics. No one ever would blame a trainer for a draw against a team who is leader and who is not loosing for weeks! Having support of 2000 fans at the back, Zrinjski tried to force his chance from time to time in the second half of the game, but could not defeat Zeljo’s national goalkeeper Adnan Guşo, who was selected as the man of the match.

On the other side, Şiroki Brijeg had an easy home victory against Sloboda Tuzla by two goals scored by the Brazilian star Ricardo Bajano at fifth and thirtyfirst minutes of the match.

FK Sarajevo, having lost deadly important matches in previous weeks and now struggling to play in European cups had played against weak Slavija in front of just only 2000 fans. In the first quarter of the match, Sarajevo incredibly missed a lot of goal chances. Murphy’s laws were valid: Slavija scored a goal and the first half of the match finished as 0-1 for Slavija. Slavija’s Lackanovic’s own goal woke up players of Sarajevo as well in the beginning of the second half of the match, and Huskiç’s goal opened the path for the modest victory of Sarajevo. The 2-1 victory could be with a marvelous result if Slavija’s goalkeeper Dujkovic was not that much successful.

Another team, who could cghange the destiny of the home game was FK Travnik. Just at the beginning of the game, in fifth minute Zvijezda scored a goal by Haliloviç. But Travnik was quick to change the destiny of the game by the goal of Ribiç at minute 40, and Varupa at minute 43. No goals in the second half, the match finished with the score 2-1 for a home team victory. However, in the last quarter of the match Zvijezda had really effective attacks on Travnik which could only be stopped by harsh faults by Travnik players caused Varupa at min. 85 and Oruç at min. 90 to be thrown out of the game after second yellow cards. Borac, ranking fourth position in the Bosnian Premier League, had a clear victory against Rudar Prijedor in away match: 3-1. Two of Borac’s goals were scored by Kajkut (See photo taken from Bosnian daily Oslobodjenje) Kajkut was selected as the man of the match not only with his goals, but also with his overall performance.

The results of the matches played in the Bosnian Premier League in 19th week is as follow:

Rudar Prijedor: 1- Borac Banja Luka: 3
Široki Brijeg: 2 - Sloboda Tuzla: 0

FK NOVİ PAZAR

Novi Pazar, who finally was above the red line last week, dropped below again after a defeat 2-0 against Smedorovo in away match. In the mean time Javor had 3-1 home victory against Sloboda Tuzla, and Borac had similar 3-1 home victory against Radniçka 1923.

On the other side the bottom of the Jelen Super Liga had warmed a bit more by this weekend. Metalac, at the very bottom of the league, who was seen as the first team to drop down into lower league had an away draw against Borça which caused Borça to be in the basket of the candidates of teams to be dropped down to lower league. Hajduk, who has been loosing points in the previous weeks became another new member of that club. If we consider Metalac as the first team to drop down, there are five candidates as the second team. Novi Pazar having the least points is just only four points lower than Borça who has the highest points in that group.

Those teams will play those matches this week:
Novi Pazar – BSK Borça
Metalac – Borac
OFK Belgrad – Javor
Hajduk – Rad

As can be observed from the previous weeks, when Novi Pazar plays at home, Javor and Borac plays away, or vice versa. So, one week the angels are with Novi Pazar, while bad luck follow the next week. Next weeken can be a turnover time again. Of course, above all, Novi Pazar should have a victory.

This weeks match against Borça for Novi Pazar may not change a lot of things fort his week, but in long term it is very important, while three points will help Novi Pazar to jump over some ranks while a defeat of Borça will maket hem to be deeper at the bottom of the league.

Another critical match for Novi Pazar is Metalac – Borac. Metalac, who had an away draw against Borça may gain fresh hopes when there are just 8 weeks left to the end. Fort hat reason, they have to defeat Borac at home game. On the other side, Javor is playing against OFK Beograd away, and surely they will loose. We do not give chance for Hajduk to loose points against Rad, who neither has a chance to play in Euro cups, nor have a fear to be dropped down and just counting the days and Hajduk is likely to have ambition to win after weeks of losses.
